Serenity Venting - Mood Tracking

There are multiple commands you can use for the Mood Tracking feature, so this document will walk you through them all.

Mood Tracking

Mood tracking is an essential tool for users to understand their emotions better and take care of their mental health!

How to use the /mood track command

1️⃣ Invoking the Command

To track your mood, simply use the /mood track command in any text channel where the bot has access. This will prompt you to select a mood that best represents how you’re feeling in the moment.

2️⃣ Selecting a Mood

You will be given five mood options to choose from:

  • 😊 Happy

  • 😟 Anxious

  • 🤩 Excited

  • 😢 Sad

  • 😐 Neutral

You can only select one mood that best fits how you feel at that time.

3️⃣ Submitting a Journal Entry

After selecting your mood, a journal entry modal will appear. This is your chance to write a short reflection about your day and emotions.

  • Express your thoughts freely—write about whatever comes to mind.

  • Use this as a personal check-in to better understand your emotional patterns.

When you're done, click "Submit" to log your entry.

4️⃣ Scheduling a Reminder (Optional)

If this is your first mood entry, the bot will ask if you'd like to set a daily reminder.

  • If you accept, the bot will remind you every 24 hours to track your mood.

  • This helps you maintain a consistent mood log and recognize emotional patterns over time.

You can always disable reminders later if needed.

Mood Statistics

The /mood stats command provides a personalized breakdown of your mood tracking history, helping you visualize patterns in your emotions over time. This can assist in self-reflection, emotional awareness, and mental well-being.

How to use the /mood stats command

1️⃣ Run the Command

To view your mood statistics, simply type:

/mood stats

in any channel where the bot has access.

2️⃣ Understanding Your Mood Statistics

If you have logged moods before, the bot will generate a detailed summary of your monthly mood tracking data.

Breakdown of Your Mood Stats:

  • 📊 Mood Percentages – See what percentage of days you felt a particular mood.

  • 📅 Logged vs. Missed Days – Find out how many days you tracked vs. how many you missed.

  • 📈 Trends Over Time – Compare your mood patterns across different months.

Example Output:

May 2025

  • 40% 😊 Happy

  • 25% 😟 Anxious

  • 15% 😢 Sad

  • 10% 🤩 Excited

  • 10% ❓Missed (days without tracking)

3️⃣ Export Your Data (Optional)

At the bottom of the stats embed, you will see a "View All Data" button. Clicking this allows you to export your full mood tracking history, helping you analyze trends beyond just the current month.

The /mood remind_me command allows you to set daily reminders to track your mood. This helps maintain a consistent mood log, making it easier to recognize emotional patterns and take care of your mental well-being.
