Alpha_0.10.1

This patch introduces the foundation of Serenity’s internal Trust & Safety (T&S) moderation suite, offering moderators a structured and auditable way to handle vent-based reports across the platform.

Version: alpha_0.10.1 Release Date: 30 August 2025 | 12:00 - 15:00 UTC Developer: Kieron Skelton

New Features and Improvements:

After releasing our Alpha_0.10.0-prod.20250826 stability patch, our lead developer shifted his focus to an important roadmap deliverable — the design and implementation of Serenity’s internal Trust & Safety Vent Reporting system. This feature set was prioritised due to rising moderation needs across the platform, particularly around vented content that may pose safety, ethical, or policy concerns.

Over the course of several focused development cycles, a modular and role-secure case workflow was built from the ground up. This included front-end vent interaction buttons, modal-based reporting, role-gated report claiming, case status management, HTML log generation, and the ability to delete concerning messages directly. The result is a clean, maintainable, and highly auditable moderation pipeline that significantly enhances Serenity’s capacity to respond to user risks, ensure compliance, and protect the integrity of its anonymous spaces.

Vent & Reply Reporting:

  • All public vents and replies now include embedded "Report" buttons with custom select menus, empowering server owners and moderators to flag concerns quickly and contextually.

  • As a fallback, each vent and reply now displays a unique and traceable UUID (messageId), ensuring that every message can be independently referenced. This UUID system enables moderators to report issues manually if the automated reporting flow ever encounters errors or delays, reinforcing reliability and accountability in high-sensitivity situations.

Case Logging System:

  • A full HTML report generator has been introduced, allowing authorised Serenity Trust & Safety team members to download comprehensive case summaries. These reports include user info, message metadata, report reasons, moderation actions, and internal notes.

Role-Gated Access:

  • HTML case files can only be generated and downloaded by members holding the Trust & Safety role, ensuring sensitive information is restricted to authorised personnel.

Case Management Tools:

  • Serenity's Trust & Safety Assistants can now claim, review, and close reports. A multi-stage workflow includes claim assignment, case status update (pending -> claimed -> closed), and mandatory internal case notes.

Vents & Replies Deletion:

  • Serenity's Trust & Safety assistants can now delete messages directly from the case interface, with full audit logging and user stat adjustments.

Secure Contact Modals:

  • Serenity's Trust & Safety assistants can reach out privately to either the reporter, or vent/reply author via a modal interface, supporting follow-up without compromising anonymity.

This update lays the foundation for future escalations, safety automation, and internal analytics, further supporting Serenity’s mission to remain a care-based, secure, and community-first environment.

As always, thank you for your trust and continued support as we evolve Serenity into a safer, more resilient space.
